Maruti Brezza Variants Explained: Features, Engine & More

Maruti Suzuki has updated the Brezza with refreshed styling, new technology and a significantly expanded feature list, while retaining the familiar lineup of four variants. The compact SUV continues to be offered in LXi, VXi, ZXi and ZXi+ trims. Buyers can also choose between petrol, turbo-petrol, automatic and CNG powertrain options depending on the variant. Here’s a closer look at what each version offers.

Maruti Suzuki Brezza: Variant Features

The entry-level LXi focuses on essential features while covering the basics of safety. It comes equipped with six airbags, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), ABS, Hill Hold Assist and ISOFIX child seat anchorages. Maruti has also provided three-point seat belts for all passengers, manual air-conditioning, tilt-adjustable steering wheel, electric front windows and a two-tone cabin. On the outside, it gets halogen headlights with LED DRLs and steel wheels with full wheel covers, making it the most affordable way to own a Brezza.Switching to VXi brings a noticeable jump in equipment. This variant gets a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, steering wheel controls, a four-speaker audio system with tweeters, rear AC vents and a front center armrest. It also features rear power windows, power exterior mirrors, automatic climate control, keyless entry with push-button start, tilt and telescoping steering, height-adjustable driver’s seat and alloy wheels.The turbo-petrol version of the VXi further adds convenience features such as rear wiper, front fog lights, reverse parking camera, front parking sensors and rear cross-traffic alert.The ZXi variant comes equipped with blind spot monitor, safe exit warning, 360-degree HD camera, front parking sensors, rear cross traffic alert, tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), head-up display, wireless phone charger and cruise control. It also gets LED projector headlights, LED taillights, an auto-dimming interior mirror and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.At the top of the range is the ZXi+, which is the most feature-rich Brezza on sale. It comes with a larger 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system that includes ARKAMYS audio tuning, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Alexa voice assistant and adaptive cruise control. It also retains features such as blind spot monitoring, safe exit alert, 360-degree camera, front parking sensors, rear cross traffic alert, TPMS, wireless charger and auto-folding ORVM.Additional top-of-the-range features include a smart key with no-walk locking, rear USB fast charging ports, leather-wrapped steering wheel, four-tone cabin theme, wing-shaped rear headrests, machined alloy wheels, LED projector headlamps and full painted body cladding, making it the most comprehensively equipped version of the SUV.

Engine and transmission options

Maruti Suzuki offers the updated Brezza with multiple powertrain options across the lineup. The LXi is available with a 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbo-petrol engine mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox, a 1.5-litre K15C petrol engine with a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 1.5-litre K15C petrol CNG option with a 6-speed manual gearbox.The VXi carries over the same engine options while also adding a 1.5-litre K15C petrol engine with a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The ZXi continues with petrol and CNG powertrains, while the range-topping ZXi+ is available with a turbo-petrol engine as well as a 1.5-litre petrol automatic, giving buyers a choice between performance and practicality.
