Kia Syros EV spotted undisguised ahead of launch: Specs expected
The Kia Syros EV has now been spotted undisguised ahead of its expected debut later this month. Recent images circulating online reveal a production-ready model without camouflage. Here’s a sneak peek of the details we can expect from the upcoming electric SUV.From the outside, the Syros EV looks almost identical to the petrol Syros. It retains the same upright stance, lighting elements and 17-inch alloy wheels. However, the electric version gets a slimmer front fascia, slightly revised bumpers and a charging port located on the front left fender. The cabin is also expected to more closely mirror the standard Syros. The spy shots give a glimpse of the two-tone interior along with the same two-tone screen and two-tone three-spoke steering wheel. Kia will likely add EV-specific graphics and software to the infotainment system while the overall dashboard layout will remain unchanged. In terms of features, the Syros EV is expected to offer a touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging, automatic climate control and a premium audio system. Safety equipment is likely to include six airbags, ABS with EBD, 360-degree camera, tire pressure monitoring system and ADAS.While Kia has not officially confirmed powertrain details, the Syros EV is expected to share its electric underpinnings with the globally sold Hyundai Inster EV. If that happens, the SUV could be offered with 42 kWh and 49 kWh battery pack options. In international markets, the Inster EV provides a claimed driving range of up to 369 km.
