India have been dealt a major blow ahead of the ODI series decider against England at Lord’s, with pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah ruled out with a knee injury. Captain Shubman Gill confirmed the news of the toss after England won and elected to bat first.“We should have been bowling. Boom missed out due to a knee injury. KL, Prince and Arshdeep came in. We were looking for four seamers. We were in a very good position and lost a lot of wickets,” said Gill during the toss. While Bumrah’s absence is a significant blow for the visitors, KL Rahul returns to the playing XI having missed the last ODI due to illness. India also brought in Prince Yadav and Arshdeep Singh as they picked a four-man pace attack in the winner-takes-all contest.England made one change, with Josh Tongue replacing Saqib Mahmood. Skipper Harry Brook, after electing to bat first, said Joe Root’s match-winning knock in the last ODI provided the ideal blueprint for his side.”We have a bat today. Looks like a good face. The tongue is back for Saqib Mahmood. The way Rooty bathes sets a great template. Hopefully we can assess the conditions quickly,” said Harry Brook during the toss.
