When explaining why he reacted the way he did, the actor attributed it to his upbringing.“My parents raised me as a man. If you were with me, or any woman, and a group of men jumped on her, I was raised to punch her hard when needed. That’s the way I was raised. I couldn’t be that cold, urban man who just stood by and stood by. I couldn’t do that. I would protect my friends, my family, and any woman around me until the day I die. Whether it was you or another woman, that was just mine. Naturally,” he said.
