Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are making headlines for their long-awaited visit to the UK, where they will lead the countdown to the 2027 Invincibles Games one-year anniversary celebrations. While the Duke and Duchess of Sussex received a grand invitation from King Charles III to Highgrove Palace last week, experts don’t think it’s worth it for the couple to return to the royal property.
Experts call on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle exited the ivory tower in 2020, leaving behind their titles as working royals, to build independent lives in California. Five years later, the couple was invited to a dinner with His Royal Highness and their children: Princess Lilibet and Prince Archie. “The Sussexes have won. Meghan Markle returns to the royal estate,” TalkTV host Mark Dolan said of the meeting in an interview with Sky News Australia. “I understand that William is angry about this. Why? Because it is a reward for Harry and Meghan’s betrayal, disloyalty and cruelty,” the expert said. Additionally, Dolan said Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were disrespectful of the monarchy. “Charles wants to see his grandson, I understand, but I don’t think Harry and Meghan have a right to be on royal property. They get their way as usual,” he added.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle: When things went bad
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle expressed their frustrating feelings about the monarchy in their 2021 interview with Oprah. The couple spoke about their fractured relationship with King Charles III and highlighted the racist behavior they experienced. According to Vogue, Meghan recalled the conversation: “In the months when I was pregnant, almost at the same time, we were saying in unison, ‘He’s not going to get security, he’s not going to get a title,’ and there were concerns about how dark his skin might be when he’s born.”Additionally, Prince Harry said he has a rocky relationship with King Charles III. “There’s still a lot that needs to be worked out. I’m very disappointed because he’s been through something similar,” he said, adding, “I will always love him. But a lot of hurt has happened.”Before Prince Harry and Meghan Markle embarked on their UK tour, there were back-and-forth conversations about their safety and security. Reports suggest the couple will reconsider their trip. A week after making headlines, the couple reunited with King Charles III and Queen Camilla.
