The Conjuring franchise was a huge success in the horror genre, with Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga becoming synonymous with the iconic paranormal investigative couple Ed and Lorraine Warren. The horror universe continues to expand with prequel movies introducing younger versions of these beloved characters. The new addition to the series marks another step in the studio’s ongoing effort to explore the origins and early years of the Warren family’s paranormal investigations.According to Fear Center, Garrett Waring and Amanda Fix in the new prequel The Conjuring: First Communion . 24-year-old actor Waring plays young Ed Warren, and Canadian actress Amanda Fix plays young Lorraine Warren. The prequel film was directed by Rodrigo Walt and co-written by Ian Goldberg and Richard Nairn. The shooting of the film has already started and the work on the prequel project is also in progress.

Amanda Fix brings her own body of work to the series. The Canadian actress made her film debut in 2021 with Broken Diamond. She has appeared in the series “Kung Fu,” “High School,” “Orphan Black: Echoes,” and this year’s streaming series. She also plays a younger version of Gillian Anderson in the upcoming film Teen Sex and Death at Camp Miasma, directed by Jane Schoenbrun.

The Conjuring: First Communion Release and Series Expansion
The studio has yet to reveal the story of The Conjuring: First Communion, but the prequel has been set for a release date of September 10, 2027, which is just before Halloween. Earlier this year, the studio also released “La Llorona’s Revenge” in theaters on April 9, 2027, as a sequel to “The Curse of La Llorona.”The Conjuring universe has grown to include nine films: The Conjuring, Annabelle, The Conjuring 2, Annabelle: Creation, The Nun, Annabelle Comes Home, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, The Nun II and The Conjuring: Last Rites, which opens in 2025 and becomes a major commercial success. The series continues to expand with new storylines that explore different aspects of the supernatural world established by the original films.
