‘Conditions in England are a big challenge’

Ahead of India’s upcoming T20I series against Zimbabwe, Tilak admitted that adapting to overseas conditions after playing predominantly in Asia for the past two years proved to be a major challenge. He also supported the captain Shreyas Iyerwhich emphasizes the importance of staying calm under pressure and maintaining a positive environment within the squad.“Actually, Shreyas Iyer leads a champion team, so obviously there is always a responsibility. At the same time, Ireland and England offer completely different conditions. In the last two years, we mostly played in Asia, and then suddenly we have to compete in overseas conditions against a very strong England team, which we have already seen in the semi-final of the World Cup. ‘Results come and go, we have to stay positive’

The left-handed batsman emphasized that the team has learned important lessons from the tour and is determined to bounce back by creating the right atmosphere inside the dressing room.“In those situations, you have to stay calm under pressure and create positive energy within the team. That’s our thinking. The results go up and down, but what’s important is how we build a good environment and back each individual. It’s just a matter of a match or a series. The last series was a good learning experience, and now we want to implement the learnings and return the momentum,” he added.
