Promotional campaign for Nitesh Tiwari’s much-awaited epic Ramayana Actor kicks off grand show in New Delhi on Saturday Yash Said the film was driven by a shared vision rather than individual stars. Speaking at the Ramayana: Pratham Sankalp event at Bharat Mandapam, the actor said that the entire cast and crew have come together with one mission – to bring the story of Lord Rama to audiences across the world.The event was attended by Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Sunny Deol, Arun Govil, director Nitesh Tiwari and producer Namit Malhotra, among others.

Yash, who addressed the audience in several Indian languages and then in Hindi, thanked producer Namit Malhotra for trusting him with the role of Ravana in such a massive project.“I’m really excited to be a part of this wonderful project,” Yash said. “The credit for bringing it to this stage belongs to Namit Malhotra. I am grateful to him for giving me the opportunity to play such an important role.”Calling Ramayana “India’s dream”, Yash said the film was much greater than any one actor.“We all came together with the same vision and the same belief: to take this story to a global platform,” he said. “Everyone put their personal interests aside. There was only one common interest, and that was to tell the story of Prabhu Shri Ram to audiences around the world and celebrate him in our own country.”He added that it takes immense courage to make a film of this scale and praised Malhotra for making it possible.
Yash praises director Nitesh Tiwari
The KGF star also thanked director Nitesh Tiwari for guiding him through the complexities of playing Ravana.“Nitesh sir, thank you for guiding me, understanding the needs of the role, answering my questions and helping me do this,” he said.While Yash did not reveal the details of his interpretation of Ravana, he spoke about the trust he shared with the filmmakers throughout the process.Apart from acting in films, Yash also works as a producer through his banner Monster Mind Creations, which is in partnership with Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios.

Yash has high praise for his co-stars, especially Ranbir Kapoor who plays the character of Lord Ram.“Ranbir’s performance has been outstanding,” he said. “I think the whole of India will understand how committed he is to this role and see the magic he creates.”Talking about Sai Pallavi, who plays Sita, Yash described her as a “perfect actress”.“When you see her perform, her eyes say it all,” he said.He also praised veteran actor Shobana, saying she brought grace and dignity to her role, and predicted that Ravi Dubey, who plays Lakshman, will be one of the biggest surprises of the film.“He’s going to be a surprise in the film,” Yash said, adding that audiences can look forward to several memorable performances from the entire cast.
Ramayana gears up for Diwali 2026
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Ravie Dubey. Playing the role of Lakshman, Arun Govil plays the role of King Dasharath.The two-part epic is getting a massive release, with the first part scheduled to release during Diwali 2026 and the second part 2027. The film’s first trailer is expected to be released globally on July 24.
