Vaibhav Sooryavanshi etched his name in the record books after registering a maiden fifty against Zimbabwe in the 1st T20I in Harare. Teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi endured a tough start to his international career in India’s T20I series against England in July 2026. The 15-year-old, who arrived with huge expectations after his record-breaking season in the IPL, made scores of 14, 13 and 15 in his first three T20I innings. On his debut at Old Trafford, he scored 14 off 10 balls, including two sixes, before being stumped by Will Jacks. He followed it up with a powerful 13 off five balls at Trent Bridge as India’s batting collapsed and then made 15 off 10 at Bristol.Chasing a modest target of 126, Sooryavanshi produced a composed but aggressive innings to register his first international half-century. In doing so, he became the youngest player in history to score a fifty in T20I cricket, surpassing Gibraltar’s record of 16 years and 56 days.

Chasing a wide delivery outside off, Sooryavanshi attempted an attacking shot over the cover region but managed only the top edge, with Ben Curran completing a safe catch at deep third. The youngster’s whirlwind innings featured four fours and four sixes, putting India firmly in control of the 126-run chase before his departure.
