The loss affected him so profoundly that he no longer found joy or purpose in pursuing a career in film. Seeking solace, he left Mumbai for Rishikesh without any plans for his future. Talking about one of the most challenging times of his life, the actor revealed in an interview with The Indian Express that his father’s death left him mentally broken. He shared: “I had a serious medical condition. Doctors drained 15 liters of pus from my stomach and just after it healed, I lost my father. I started losing my life. So, I went to Rishikesh and started making omelets at a dhaba near the banks of the Ganges. The dhaba owner told me that I would get 150 rupees for washing 50 cups every day. But then I thought I needed money to make ends meet,” he said.

The ‘Dhamaal 4’ actor also spoke about how he almost gave up on life during a severe health issue that almost changed his outlook on life. “I should have died,” he said. He added that doctors had warned his family that if the surgery was unsuccessful, his chances of survival would be too slim.Shortly after recovering from surgery, his father died a few days after being discharged from the hospital. Mishra remembers their last conversation that still haunts him. “I told my father, ‘How can you eat a three-day-old chicken?’ He told me, ‘Tumhari nasihat ki zaroorat nahin Hai (I don’t need your advice). “Those were the last words my father said to me,” he shared. Misra’s grief was compounded when she later discovered a painful note in her father’s diary after his death. He revealed that his father felt humiliated when the actor lost his temper with a fan while watching “Aloo Chaat” outside a cinema.
