Retesting Skoda Slavia facelift: Interior, design changes
The Škoda Slavia sedan made its global debut in 2021. Now, almost five years later, the model is set to receive its first mid-century facelift, bringing a host of design and feature updates. The upcoming Slavia facelift has been spotted testing on Indian roads several times over the past few months, with each sighting revealing something new. New spy photos of the Slavia facelift have surfaced, revealing more details about the sedan’s upcoming updates. The latest images also offer a peek inside the cabin, although most of the dashboard is still hidden under heavy camouflage.

The spy picture offers a first look at Slavia’s interior. While camouflage still covers much of the instrument panel, the cabin looks largely unchanged. The freestanding infotainment screen and existing steering wheel design can be seen in the test vehicle. Based on the updates introduced with the Kushaq facelift, the Slavia is expected to get a larger touchscreen, an updated digital instrument panel and new upholstery options. Mechanically, it is expected to remain unchanged, retaining the same set of engine options. Just like the Kushaq, Skoda expected the introduction of a new 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission for the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, replacing the earlier 6-speed unit. The second engine is a 1.5-liter, 4-cylinder, turbo-petrol.In terms of design, it is expected to get a redesigned front fascia with sharper headlamps, a revised grille that includes a merged light bar, similar to the Kushaq facelift and a new bumper design. Along the sides, the sedan could get newly designed 16-inch alloy wheels. At the rear, updates are likely to include a reworked trunk lid, slimmer taillight housings and other subtle styling tweaks. The sedan will also have dynamic turn signals. The current model uses halogen indicators at both ends; the facelifted model will be replaced by LED units. Updated combination lights with dynamic turn signals will be located in the lower exterior, with comprehensive animation from the inside out, similar to those seen on more expensive sedans.Image: Rushlane/Instagram
