Kia Syros EV launched: Up to 80% redemption, BaaS option and a range of 526 km

Kia India has launched the Syros EV with prices starting at Rs 13.49 lakh, pre-showroom. The Syros EV will go on sale at Kia dealerships in India from July 30.The Syros EV is available with two battery pack options. The entry-level 42 kWh version starts at Rs 13.49 lakh, while the higher range-extended 51.4 kWh variant starts at Rs 16.99 lakh, both ex-showroom. The lineup consists of seven variants, with the range-topping X-Line ER priced at Rs 19.99 lakh.It can be had with a 42 kWh battery that offers an ARAI-certified range of 443 km and a larger 51.4 kWh battery that offers a claimed range of 526 km. Power comes from a front electric motor that produces 171 hp, while the variant with the larger battery can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 8.1 seconds. Kia also claims DC fast charging takes 39 minutes for 10-80 percent charge using a 100kW charger. The SUV also features an on-board 10.8kW AC charger, battery conditioner and EV-specific functions such as regenerative braking with i-Pedal mode, Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Battery Heating System.The main highlight of the Syros EV is its ownership package. Kia offers a lifetime high-voltage battery warranty covering 15 years with unlimited kilometres, along with a guaranteed buyback program that promises up to 80 percent of the resale value after three years under introductory terms. The company has also introduced a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) program, which allows customers to buy a vehicle starting at Rs 7.99 lakh with battery payments starting at Rs 3.3 per kilometer. Additionally, the My Convenience e-Plus package combines maintenance, extended warranty and roadside assistance.Inside, the Syros EV gets a 30-inch Trinity Panoramic Display that combines a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 5-inch climate control screen. Other features include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Kia Connect 2.0 with over 95 connected features, OTA updates, eight-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, ventilated front and rear seats, panoramic sunroof, 4-way power driver’s seat, ambient lighting, smart camera with instruments and a 16-litre front boot. In terms of safety, it is equipped with ADAS level 2 which contains 16 autonomous functions, along with six airbags, ESC, hill start assist, 360-degree camera, blind spot monitor and a total of 25 standard safety features.
