In a recent interview, the actor talked about returning to the MCU set after so many years and how filming “Armageddon” took him back to when he was filming the first “Avengers” movie in 2011.

Speaking about his return as Captain America in Avengers: Doomsday, Chris Evans reflects on his journey in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and what it was like when he first joined the franchise. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly about his return, Evans revealed that it felt like he was back on the set of 2011’s The Avengers.He added, “It’s almost like going back to the first ‘Avengers’ in 2011 because in the beginning you’re like the new kid on the block and you’re excited to even be there.”Discussing his excitement on set, Evans shared, “I would find myself watching the movie. You’re in the scene, but then you’re like, ‘Robert Downey Jr. is playing Tony Stark! Shit, I have lines.'” In this one, I felt a little bit of that again, just watching you do it, and I can’t wait to see that. “Chris Evans last reprized his role in the 2019 film Avengers: Endgame. He first starred in Captain America in 2011, followed by his second film, The Avengers, in 2012.

In the same interview, Downey Jr., a well-known actor who has played Tony Stark or Iron Man in the Marvel Universe over the years, also weighed in on his return in a different role. Comparing the two men, the actor commented, “It’s a scientific thing, they’re considered very smart people, but the trauma Tony suffered makes him a hero, whereas Doom was the exact opposite and needed the strength of all these people to fight him – and it was such a joy to see.”“
