NTA invites 16 young professionals to apply

National testing agency (State Administration of Taxation) has invited applications for 16 Young Professional (YP) posts through the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Pratibha Setu Portal. The purpose of this recruitment is to strengthen the institution’s academic, legal and financial functions while expanding the institution’s review and research activities. According to the official notification, the vacancies are divided into three categories. 12 academic studies, 2 legal studies, and 2 financial accounting studies. The selected candidates will be posted at NTA Headquarters, Delhi. Depending on the needs of official work, it may sometimes be necessary to travel within India. The partnership period is initially for 24 months and can be extended for a further 12 months based on performance and organizational requirements.

Eligibility criteria

Applications will be accepted only from candidates registered on the UPSC Pratibha Setu portal.

academic research

Candidates should:

  • Appeared for Civil Services Examination and listed on Pratibha Setu Portal.
  • Preferably hold a postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Candidates with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree or research and teaching experience will be given priority.

legal research

Candidates should:

  • He took the Civil Service Examination as an elective subject.
  • Hold a Master of Laws (LLM) degree from a recognized university.
  • Candidates with legal research or litigation experience will be given priority.

Finance and Accounting Studies

Candidates should:

  • Appeared for Civil Services Examination and appeared on Pratibha Setu Portal.
  • Hold a postgraduate degree in business, economics, finance or a related subject, or have a professional qualification such as a Chartered Accountant (CA), Cost and Management Accountant (CMA) or Company Secretary (CS).
  • Candidates with financial, budgeting or auditing experience will be given priority.

Candidates must also meet the age limit prescribed under the UPSC Pratibha Setu scheme.

Salary and tenure

Selected candidates will receive:

  • The monthly fixed salary is Rs 80,000.
  • The initial contract term is 24 months, which can be extended to 36 months based on performance.
  • Eight days of vacation are entitled to pro rata each year.
  • The NTA Delhi office operates full-time five days a week.

The notice made it clear that the employment was purely contractual in nature and did not guarantee permanent employment with the government or the State Board of Revenue.

Selection process

The selection process will include:

  • Eligible candidates are shortlisted based on their profile and relevant categories.
  • Interviews can be conducted in person or via video conference.
  • If required, NTA can also conduct a written test or task-based assessment before making the final selection.
