Tilak Varma overtakes MS Dhoni, Raina in India's T20I run-scoring list

India batsman and T20I vice-captain Tilak Varma moved into the list of India’s highest run-scorers in T20 internationals after his unbeaten half-century against Zimbabwe in the second T20I on Saturday.Tilak scored 60 not out from 29 balls, hitting five fours and three sixes at a strike rate of 206.90. The knock helped him through MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina and teammates Ishan Kishan to become India’s seventh highest run-scorer in T20Is.The left-hander has now scored 1,634 runs in 58 T20Is and 55 innings at an average of 44.16 and a strike rate of 145.37. His record includes two centuries and nine fifties, with a highest score of 120 not out.Tilak overtook Dhoni, who finished with 1,617 runs in 98 T20Is at an average of 37.60 and a strike rate of 126.13, with two fifties.

He is also ahead of Raina, who has scored 1,605 runs in 78 matches at an average of 29.18 and a strike rate of 134.87, including one century and five fifties.India’s leading run-scorers in T20Is remain Rohit Sharma (4,231 runs), Virat Kohli (4,188) and Suryakumar Yadav (3,272).Tilak has scored 451 runs in 18 T20I innings this year at an average of 34.69 and a strike rate of 149.
