Kia India has unveiled the much-awaited Syros EV. The company has also opened pre-bookings for the electric SUV priced at Rs 25,000 through its official website and dealerships across the country. The Syros EV is offered with two battery pack options and claims an ARAI-certified driving range of up to 526 km.The larger 51.4 kWh battery pack provides an ARAI-certified range of 526 km. It can also be had with a smaller 42 kWh battery that offers a claimed range of 443 km. Power comes from a front electric motor that produces 171 hp, while the version with a larger battery can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.1 seconds.Speaking of charging capabilities, with a 100 kW DC fast charger, the battery can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in just 39 minutes. The SUV also comes with an on-board 10.8kW AC charger, battery conditioning technology and regenerative braking with i-Pedal mode. Kia also offers a lifetime warranty on high-voltage batteries, a guaranteed buy-back program and its Battery as a Service (BaaS) financing option. In terms of design, the Syros EV largely resembles its ICE counterpart, save for a few EV-specific styling cues such as the Digital Tiger Face, Ice Cube MFR LED headlights, Star Map LED lighting, flush door handles and 17-inch two-tone alloy wheels. Buyers can also opt for 16-inch wheels depending on the variant.Inside, the Syros EV gets a 30-inch Trinity Panoramic Display Panel that combines a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 5-inch climate control screen. Other features include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Kia Connect 2.0 with more than 95 connected features, Over-the-Air updates, Harman Kardon audio system with 8 speakers, ventilated front and rear seats, panoramic sunroof, 4-way adjustable driver’s seat, ambient lighting, smart camera with instruments and a 16 liter front trunk.In terms of safety, the Syros EV comes equipped with Level 2 ADAS that offers 16 functions for autonomous driving, including Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Lane Keeping Assist and Lane Keeping Assist. It also gets six airbags, electronic stability control, vehicle stability control, hill-start assist, all-wheel disc brakes, an electronic parking brake with automatic hold, a 360-degree camera, a blind-spot monitor, and a total of 25 standard safety features.The Syros EV will be available in seven variants in two battery options. Kia will offer the electric SUV in nine exterior colors along with multiple interior themes. Prices are yet to be confirmed.
