India made two changes for the fifth and final T20I against England at the Rose Bowl in Southampton, with teenage opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi out of the playing XI.Sanju Samson Sooryavanshi was replaced, while all-rounder Suryansh Shedge came in for Washington Sundar as India looked to end the series on a positive note after taking an unassailable 3-0 lead.By the way, captain Shreyas Iyer explained that the management of the team wanted to try different combinations instead of thinking about the result of the series.“I just want them to give one hundred percent effort, regardless of the result. I just want them to have a strong mind set where they just go in and try to get the best out of themselves, instead of being lazy or being in that situation where you rush out of the game, give yourself time, relax, breathe. So just come and stop thinking about what happened or what will happen,” he said in passing. When asked about the changes, Iyer said: “We have two changes. Suryansh Shedge for Washington and Sanju Samson is coming for Sooryavanshi. I feel that this is the time when we have to try what is the best development for us as a team. So based on that, we have decided on this.”Sooryavanshi, who made his international debut on the tour, endured a tough outing in England after showing promise in Ireland. India opted to give Samson a chance at the end of the series as they assess their options ahead of the upcoming assignments. After winning the toss, India chose to bowl first, but England’s batsmen took full advantage of the conditions. Jos Buttler smashed 131 off 64 balls, while captain Harry Brook remained unbeaten on 95 as the hosts piled up 257/3 in 20 overs. The pair shared a blistering 233-run stand for the second wicket after the early dismissal of Phil Salt. For India, Shivam Dube picked up two wickets, while Prasidh Krishna claimed one.
